Aug 9, 2018 – Psalm 16:11

You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for ever more.

– Psalm 16:11

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

In this competitive and materialistic world, people worship money, fame and fortune. They believe that money and influence can make them happy and blessed. They rush about and work hard for the sake of money, fame and status at all costs, but what they are repaid with is suffering, perplexity and spiritual emptiness. Many people cannot help asking themselves: What is true joy and blessing really? This verse tells us the answer. Only by gaining the way of life granted by God can we have true peace and joy in our lives. God created mankind. He is the source of man’s life. Only God constantly supplies mankind with all things, bestowing upon us what we need for our life. Just as God says, “The way of life is not something that can be possessed by just anyone, nor is it easily obtainable by all. That is because life can only come from God, which is to say, only God Himself possesses the substance of life, there is no way of life without God Himself, and so only God is the source of life, and the ever-flowing wellspring of living water of life.
