And the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
– John 1:14
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
We all know that theis the incarnate God and lives among men. Outwardly, Jesus is an average person, but this flesh is the embodiment of the Spirit of God and holds the substance of God. He can express the truth and bestow grace upon man anytime and anywhere. Jesus did the work of redemption, took upon Himself the sins of humanity and became a sin offering for mankind so that man could confess his sins, repent and be pardoned from his sins, thus exempting man from the conviction and the curse of the law. This way, man would be qualified to come before God and pray to Him, and enjoy the abundant grace and truth of God. Those who followed Jesus, such as Peter, Jacob, and John, recognized Him as the coming Messiah because they felt that Jesus’ words are the truth with authority and power and saw that what Jesus did comes from God. However, those Jewish Pharisees did not at all investigate Jesus’ way but found fault with Him. Even though they knew that Jesus’ words have authority and power, in order to protect their status and livelihood, they racked their brains to resist and condemn His work, and spread various rumors and fallacies to deceive believers, doing all they could to block believers from following the Lord Jesus. They even joined forces with the Roman government to nail Jesus to the cross and eventually were cursed and punished by God. Obviously, it is crucial for believers in God to know the incarnate God. We should fear God like Peter and know the incarnate God from His words, work, and substance.
God says, “The flesh worn by the Spirit of God is God’s own flesh. The Spirit of God is supreme; He is almighty, holy, and righteous. So likewise, His flesh is also supreme, almighty, holy, and righteous. Flesh such as that is only able to do that which is righteous and beneficial to mankind, that which is holy, glorious, and mighty, and is incapable of doing anything that violates the truth or morality and justice, much less anything that betrays God’s Spirit. The Spirit of God is holy, and thus His flesh is incorruptible by Satan; His flesh is of a different essence than the flesh of man. For it is man, not God, who is corrupted by Satan; Satan could not possibly corrupt the flesh of God.”
