Gospel Sermon: Is the Idea of the Trinity Tenable?

Since the Lord Jesus incarnate did the work of the Age of Grace, for 2,000 years, all of Christianity has defined the one true God as the “Trinity.” Since the Bible mentions the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, they’ve assumed that God must be a Trinity. There is some debate, but most people have upheld the idea of the Trinity without any change. Some people say “Trinity,” and others say “Three in One,” which is essentially the same, and means the same thing. Whether we say “Trinity” or “Three in One,” it is saying that God is made up of three parts that are God when They’re together, and without one part, They’re not the one true God. Only when They’re together can They be the one true God. This is simply a ridiculous thing to say. Could you really say that Jehovah God isn’t the one true God? Or that the Lord Jesus isn’t the one true God? Is the Holy Spirit not the one true God? Isn’t this concept of the Trinity just a way to deny and discredit the one true God? Isn’t it carving up and blaspheming the one true God? We can see how utterly absurd this idea of the Trinity is. So just like that, the religious world has defined the one true God as the Trinity, fragmenting Him this whole time. This is so painful for God. The religious world is stubbornly clinging to this and has refused to change all along. Now Almighty God of the last days has come to do the work of judgment, expressing all truths that save mankind. He has fully debunked Christianity’s greatest fallacy—the Trinity. This has opened our eyes and we praise Christ from our hearts as the way, the truth, and the life, and praise God’s wisdom and almightiness. Without God directly unpacking this falsehood, we would never discover the absurdities within the idea of the Trinity. Let’s take a closer look at this by reading some of God’s words.

Almighty God says, “If any among you says that the Trinity indeed exists, then explain what exactly this one God in three persons is. What is the Holy Father? What is the Son? What is the Holy Spirit? Is Jehovah the Holy Father? Is Jesus the Son? Then what of the Holy Spirit? Is not the Father a Spirit? Is not the essence of the Son also a Spirit? Was not the work of Jesus the work of the Holy Spirit? Was not the work of Jehovah at the time carried out by a Spirit the same as Jesus’? How many Spirits can God have? According to your explanation, the three persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one; if this be so, then there are three Spirits, but to have three Spirits means there are three Gods. This means that there is no one true God; how can this kind of God still have the inherent essence of God? If you accept that there is only one God, then how can He have a son and be a father? Are these not all simply your notions? There is only one God, only one person in this God, and only one Spirit of God, much as it is written down in the Bible that ‘There is only one Holy Spirit and only one God.’ Regardless of whether the Father and the Son of which you speak exist, there is only one God after all, and the essence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit you believe in is the essence of the Holy Spirit. In other words, God is a Spirit, but He is able to become flesh and live among men, as well as to be above all things. His Spirit is all-inclusive and omnipresent. He can simultaneously be in the flesh and in and above the universe. Since all people say that God is the only one true God, then there is a single God, divisible at will by none! God is only one Spirit, and only one person; and that is the Spirit of God. … This concept of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is most absurd! This segments God and splits Him into three persons, each with a status and Spirit; how then can He still be one Spirit and one God? Tell Me, were the heavens and earth, and all things created by the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit? Some say that They created it all together. Then who redeemed mankind? Was it the Holy Spirit, the Son, or the Father? Some say it was the Son who redeemed mankind. Then who is the Son in essence? Is He not the incarnation of the Spirit of God? The incarnation calls God in heaven by the name of Father from the perspective of a created man. Are you not aware that Jesus was born through the conception of the Holy Spirit? Within Him is the Holy Spirit; whatever you say, He is still one with God in heaven, for He is the incarnation of the Spirit of God. This idea of the Son is simply untrue. It is one Spirit who carries out all of the work; only God Himself, that is, the Spirit of God carries out His work. Who is the Spirit of God? Is it not the Holy Spirit? Is it not the Holy Spirit who works in Jesus? If the work had not been carried out by the Holy Spirit (that is, the Spirit of God), then could His work have represented God Himself?” (“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). God’s words are clear and incisive. God is the one true God, and there’s only one Spirit of God, one person in this God. There absolutely are not the three persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Before God became flesh as the Lord Jesus, there was no mention of the Son. There was just God’s Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit. When God created the heavens, the earth, and all things, they were created through His Spirit’s words, so isn’t God’s Spirit the one true God? When God did the work of the Age of Law, it was directly through human beings. There was no so-called “Son” at the time, but God was just one God, the Creator. No one had ever said God was a Trinity, and the Holy Spirit never testified to the Trinity. So why did people start to define God as a Trinity once He incarnated, coming as the Lord Jesus? The Lord Jesus was God’s Spirit clothed in flesh, and all of His work was governed and directly expressed by the Spirit of God. The Spirit within the Lord Jesus is the Spirit of Jehovah—that is the Holy Spirit. So is the Lord Jesus the one true God? Yes, He is. So, it’s not that God split into three parts—Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—because He became flesh, but people insisted on dividing up God because they don’t understand the essence of the incarnation. This is human error, and is because humans’ capacity for understanding is limited. God is the one true God. There is only one God and He has one Spirit. He was the one true God before any incarnations, and He remains the one true God after incarnating. People split God up into three parts, three persons because He became flesh, which is essentially fracturing God and denying the one true God. Isn’t that asinine? Could it be that when He created the world, He wasn’t the one true God? Or that during the Age of Law, He wasn’t the one true God? Why would the one true God become a God of the Trinity after He appeared and worked in the flesh in the Age of Grace? Isn’t this a mistake brought about by human absurdity and nonsense? If the idea of the Trinity were correct, why didn’t God bear witness to His three persons when He created the world? And why didn’t anyone bear witness to this during the Age of Law? Why isn’t there any testimony in Revelation from the Holy Spirit about a Trinity? This is how we can be certain that God’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Father, and the Son have never shared testimony that God is a Trinity. Corrupt human beings and the religious world fabricated this absurd theory of the Trinity in the centuries after the Lord Jesus’ work in the flesh. It’s clear that the idea of the Trinity doesn’t remotely hold water, and is nothing but a human notion and imagining. It is the religious world’s greatest fallacy over all 2,000 years, which has misled and harmed countless people.

At this point, you may be wondering why the Holy Spirit bore witness that the Lord Jesus was the “beloved Son” and why the Lord Jesus called God in heaven “Father” in His prayers? What’s the meaning of that? Let’s take a look at what Almighty God has said about this question. Almighty God says, “There are others who say, ‘Did not God expressly state that Jesus was His beloved Son?’ Jesus is the beloved Son of God, in whom He is well pleased—this was certainly spoken by God Himself. That was God bearing witness to Himself, but merely from a different perspective, that of the Spirit in heaven bearing witness to His own incarnation. Jesus is His incarnation, not His Son in heaven. Do you understand? Do not the words of Jesus, ‘I am in the Father, and the Father in Me,’ indicate that They are one Spirit? And is it not because of the incarnation that They were separated between heaven and earth? In reality, They are still one; no matter what, it is simply God bearing witness to Himself(“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). “When Jesus called God in heaven by the name of Father as He prayed, this was done only from the perspective of a created man, only because the Spirit of God had put on an ordinary and normal flesh and had the exterior cover of a created being. Even if within Him was the Spirit of God, His exterior appearance was still that of a normal man; in other words, He had become the ‘Son of man’ of which all men, including Jesus Himself, spoke. Given that He is called the Son of man, He is a person (whether man or woman, in any case one with the exterior shell of a human being) born into a normal family of ordinary people. Therefore, Jesus calling God in heaven by the name of Father was the same as how you at first called Him Father; He did so from the perspective of a created man. … His addressing God (that is, the Spirit in heaven) in such a manner, however, does not prove that He was the Son of the Spirit of God in heaven. Rather, it was simply that His perspective was different, not that He was a different person. The existence of distinct persons is a fallacy!(“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). We can see from God’s words that the Holy Spirit calling the Lord Jesus the beloved Son was God bearing witness to His incarnation from the perspective of the Spirit. If the Holy Spirit hadn’t done this, no one would have known the Lord Jesus’ true identity. So this open testimony allowed people to learn that the Lord Jesus was God’s incarnation. And the Lord Jesus called God in heaven Father when He prayed because in the flesh, He wasn’t supernatural, but lived with normal humanity and He felt like a regular person. That’s why He called the Spirit of God in heaven Father, standing in the place of a created being. Praying this way perfectly embodied Christ’s humility and obedience. But based on the Lord Jesus’ prayers to the Father, the religious world divided God into two, saying Jesus and Jehovah had a father-son relationship. What total nonsense! Philip, the Lord Jesus’ disciple, asked Him about this, saying, “Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us” (John 14:8). What was His response? The Lord said, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known Me, Philip? he that has seen Me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father? Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?(John 14:9–10). He also said, “I and My Father are one(John 10:30). Clearly, the Father and the Son are one God, and don’t have a father-son relationship as people think. The only reason this idea of a Father and a Son came about is because God incarnated, and it’s only applicable to His time working in the flesh. As soon as God’s work in the flesh came to a close, He regained His original form and there was no longer any such thing as the Father and Son.

Let’s take a look at another passage of God’s words. Almighty God says, “The Spirit within Jesus, the Spirit in heaven, and the Spirit of Jehovah are all one. It is called the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, the sevenfold intensified Spirit, and the all-inclusive Spirit. The Spirit of God can carry out much work. He is able to create the world and destroy it by flooding the earth; He can redeem all mankind, and moreover, He can conquer and destroy all mankind. This work is all carried out by God Himself and cannot be done by any of the personhoods of God in His stead. His Spirit can be called by the name of Jehovah and Jesus, as well as the Almighty. He is the Lord, and Christ. He can also become the Son of man. He is in the heavens and also on the earth; He is on high above the universes and among the multitude. He is the only Master of the heavens and earth! From the time of creation until now, this work has been carried out by the Spirit of God Himself. Be it the work in the heavens or in the flesh, all is carried out by His own Spirit. All creatures, whether in heaven or on earth, are in the palm of His almighty hand; all of this is the work of God Himself and can be done by no other in His stead. In the heavens, He is the Spirit but also God Himself; among men, He is flesh but remains God Himself. Though He may be called by hundreds of thousands of names, He is still Himself, the direct expression of His Spirit. The redemption of all mankind through His crucifixion was the direct work of His Spirit, and so too is the proclamation unto all nations and all lands during the last days. At all times, God can only be called the almighty and one true God, the all-inclusive God Himself. The distinct persons do not exist, much less this idea of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is only one God in heaven and on earth!(“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). From Almighty God’s words, we can see that God is a Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit. He is almighty; He created the heavens, the earth, and all things, and rules over all. He can become flesh for the sake of His work and live among human beings in a practical way. He looks like a regular person from the outside, but all of His work is governed by God’s Spirit. When His work in the flesh is complete, God regains His original form. The fleshly form is just how God appears to mankind during a phase of His work. And so, whether God is working directly from the Spirit, or working in the flesh, whether He is called Jehovah, Jesus, or Almighty God, He is the same Spirit. He is God Himself, He is self-existent and everlasting, and He created and rules over all things. At this point in our fellowship, I think everyone is clear that there is just one God, the one true God. There is no shadow of a doubt. Christianity maintains that the one true God is the Trinity, insisting on dividing God into three parts, spreading the belief that only the three of Them together make up the one true God, and separately, They are not the one true God. Isn’t this actually a denial of God? Humanity having such a tremendous misunderstanding of God proves that they don’t remotely understand the Bible or know God’s essence, and they’re incredibly arrogant in their grasp of the literal content of the Bible, delimiting and dividing God based on human notions and imaginings. This is actually resisting and blaspheming God.

And now, Almighty God, Christ of the last days has come, expressing truth to do His work, exposing the religious world’s greatest fallacy—the Trinity. Now we are certain that God is the one true God. His Spirit is the one true God, the Holy Spirit is the one true God, and His incarnations are the one true God. As His Spirit, as the Holy Spirit, and in His incarnation, He is the one true God and He is one single God. He cannot be separated. If people can’t accept these truths but stubbornly cling to their notions and imaginings, insisting on believing in the Trinity, seeing the one true God as three Gods, that is the sin of condemning and blaspheming God. Blaspheming God’s Spirit is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, and no one can possibly bear the consequences of that. The intelligent have a chance to awaken without delay and stop clinging to this incorrect perspective to avoid making the mistake of going against God. The Lord Jesus said, “All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come(Matthew 12:31–32). The religious world is still stubbornly insisting on this fallacy of the Trinity. How long will they keep resisting God? It is time to wake up. Almighty God says, “Throughout these many years, God has been split by you in this way, being split finer and finer with each generation, to the extent that one God has been openly split into three Gods. And now it is simply impossible for man to rejoin God as one, for you have split Him up too finely! If not for My prompt work before it was too late, it is hard to say how long you would have brazenly continued this way! To continue splitting God in this way, how can He still be your God? Would you still recognize God?(“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). “Can your logic thoroughly dissect the work of God? Can you gain an insight into all the work of Jehovah? Is it you as a man who can see through to it all, or is it God Himself who is able to see from everlasting to everlasting? Is it you who can see from everlasting long ago to the everlasting to come, or is it God who can do so? What do you say? How are you worthy to explain God? On what basis is your explanation? Are you God? The heavens and earth, and all things were created by God Himself. It was not you who did this, so why are you giving incorrect explanations? Now, do you continue to believe in the triune God? Do you not think it is too burdensome this way? It would be best for you to believe in one God, not in three. It is best to be light, for the burden of the Lord is light(“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).
