A Famous Hymn “The Lord’s Prayer” – Jesus Taught Us How to Pray

Let’s listen blind tenor Andrea Bocelli‘s version

The lyrics of the famous song come from the Lord Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4, known as the Lord’s Prayer. It is written in Matthew 6:9-13: “Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” These verses are also the prophecies which the Lord Jesus will accomplish when He returns. We have been longing for the Lord Jesus coming soon to take us to the heavenly home, and we have always believed that the heavenly home is in heaven. But when I thought over these verses carefully, I gained a little new knowledge. “Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Here it says that God’s kingdom come, God’s will be done in earth, it is very clear that when the Lord comes to take us to the heavenly home, He will not take us to heaven but He Himself will descend upon earth. Afterward, God will establish His kingdom on earth, and the human beings will still worship God on earth.

I also thought it was prophesied in Revelation, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Rev 21:3-4). Here it says the tabernacle of God is with men, it means that the Lord Jesus will again become the Son of man, live together with us, reside with us and lead us by speaking words, just as He did in the Age of Grace. Then we will be with God face to face, get to know God’s disposition and see His mercy and lovingkindness from His utterances. We can learn how to be a person, how to revere and obey God through His teachings, and gain the truth from God as the compass directing our daily life and actions. Finally, God will gain a group of people who know Him, submit to Him and are of one mind with Him. This group of people can understand God’s words, be His companion and confidants, and stand alongside Him forever. This fulfills God’s will of creating mankind from the very beginning—people can glorify God and worship God on earth. We can also see that the kingdom of God comes and the tabernacle of God is with men.

It is mentioned in Revelation that God will make a group of overcomers in the last days, and this group of people will rule as kings with God and become the pillars of God’s kingdom. As the verses says, “Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write on him my new name” (Rev 3:2). So God will gain a group of people who are of one mind with Him. God’s people will experience kinds of tribulations, trials and refinements. All those who stand testimony will belong to the people in the kingdom of heaven, and the wicked, the evil spirits, the timid and those that are promiscuous will have been revealed and eliminated. At that time, Christ’s kingdom will appear upon the earth. What God wants to accomplish can’t be disturbed or impaired by any force of Satan, and God’s will will be carried out on earth completely, as it is in heaven.
