Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yes, they may forget, yet will I not forget you.
– Isaiah 49:15
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
When the Israelites were captured, they felt they had been abandoned by God, so they complained, “The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me” (Isaiah 49:14). However, God told them, “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yes, they may forget, yet will I not forget you” (Isaiah 49:15). God’s words are more than comfort to us, but truly show us that He has always loved us and accompanied us by our side.
In the beginning, Adam and Eve initially didn’t obey God’s words but ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When God went to visit them, they hid because they were naked. God couldn’t see them, and after He called out for them. They said, “We dare not see You for our bodies are naked.” They did not dare to see God because they were naked. Jehovah God personally used skins to make clothing for them. This matter allows us to see God’s faithfulness and humbleness, and we also feel God’s love for mankind. God says, “God created these two people and treated them as His companions. As their only family, God looked after their living and also took care of their basic necessities. Here, God appears as a parent of Adam and Eve. While God does this, man does not see how lofty God is; he does not see God’s paramount supremacy, His mysteriousness, and especially not His wrath or majesty. All he sees is God’s humbleness, His affection, His concern for man and His responsibility and care toward him. The attitude and way in which God treated Adam and Eve is akin to how human parents show concern for their own children. It’s also like how human parents love, look after, and care for their own sons and daughters—real, visible, and tangible.”
From beginning to end, God treats man like how human parents love their own sons and daughters. He always has pity on this mankind. He has never ceased saving man because of man’s corruption. When God created the heavens and earth and all things, He didn’t create this mankind until He had prepared the living environment that mankind needs. For example, in the Age of Law, mankind didn’t know how to live. So God set forth the law through Moses, telling them what are positive things and what are negative things, telling them how to worship God and how to sacrifice, and even telling them how to kill livestock in detail and how to live on earth…. Later, many people kept sinning because they were incapable of keeping the law. If they continued this way, more people would be put to death by law because of sinning. God has mercy on this mankind who are afflicted by Satan. Therefore, God was incarnated asto be crucified and to redeem mankind with His blood. From then on, we were qualified to come before God, pray to Him, and commune with Him…. God has done a lot for this mankind. With faithfulness and sincerity, He continues quietly to give His all to us and lead us to live a normal life on earth. This is God’s love, real as parents’ love to their sons and daughters.
