Foris Lord even of the sabbath day.
– Matthew 12:8
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
We can learn from thethat at the Age of Law, Jehovah God set forth the law through Moses, requiring people to observe the Sabbath. However, when Jesus came to do His work, He took disciples to preach on Sabbath and also opened the eyes of a blind. The Pharisees found fault with Jesus, saying that Jesus didn’t keep the Sabbath. Jesus said, “the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.” Presently, Jesus is also Lord of our daily lives.
Some brothers and sisters have experienced that when we perceive the withering of the spirit, we will take a walk, or shoot the breeze, or hit the bed to kill time, but none of which can solve our problem. However, when we pray to God, we will understand God’s intentions by His enlightenment. Our hearts will be bright and more fulfilled than having a meal when we know what we should do. God’s words say, “When you feel powerless, when you feel a strong desire to gain enlightenment from God to allow you to know the reality of truth and His will, what do you need most? What you need isn’t a full meal, and it’s not a few kind words. More than that, it’s not the transient comfort and satisfaction of the flesh—what you need is for God to directly, clearly tell you what you should do and how you should do it, to clearly tell you what the truth is.” “God’s everything is immaterial…. It cannot be measured with the heavy price of material objects nor can its value be quantified with money, because it is not a material object, and it supplies the needs of each and every person’s heart.” After reading these words, we come to understand the true meaning of “the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.” God’s words also say, “What God has and is and God’s everything are the most important things for every single person and they cannot be replaced by any material object. … The truth for mankind is something that they cannot lack in their lives, that they can never do without; you could also say that it’s the greatest thing. Although you can’t look at it or touch it, its importance to you cannot be ignored; it is the only thing that can bring peace to your heart.” Therefore, it’s very important to pursue the truth to know God. Amen!
