Matthew 13:45-46 – Entering the Kingdom of Heaven

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof.

– Matthew 13:45-46

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

This parable of the Lord Jesus is a warning to us. For several thousand years, numerous Christians are eager to enter the kingdom of heaven, but no one can easily enter it. The Lord Jesus once said that “the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12). The merchant sold all to get the precious pearl. Likewise, we should abandon everything to follow God to the end. Now, although many people believe in God, when our own interests suffer loss or when we are laughed at, we are unwilling to go on believing in God or expending for Him. If we don’t pursue the truth just like the merchant to abandon all to get the pearl, but have many demands and desires, then our wish of entering the kingdom of heaven won’t come true. Such as the rich young man, observed the commandments but couldn’t abandon the wealth, finally he missed the chance to follow the Lord. (Ref. Matthew 19:16-30).

Prayer

O God! Many times, I love wealth and fame more than the truth. I’m willing to repent. May You guide me to move forward.
