Only by Achieving Purification Can We Enter the Kingdom of Heaven. A Commentary on John 8:34–35

Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the Son stays ever.

– John 8:34-35

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

How can we enter the heavenly kingdom? This is one of the noteworthy truth. The Lord tells us anyone free from sin can be brought into the heavenly kingdom and is called the Son of God. On the contrary, anyone who still commits sins is of Satan and the servant of sin, and cannot be brought into the heavenly kingdom. God’s word gave us a big warning. After reading this verse, I cannot help thinking: The Lord has forgiven our sins, what does it refer to? I still sin and confess every day, and have no change. How can I cast off the sin? Understand these two aspects, and we’ll find a path to God’s kingdom.
