I saw such a story on the Internet: A boy used up all his strength to move a big stone but he couldn’t lift it up. However, his father said that he didn’t try his best for he didn’t draw strength from outward power. Often times, we need the aid of outward power to complete a thing as our own capability is limited. Only through outward power can our lack be made up for and can we do things a lot better. Nevertheless, often times, we all depend on our own capabilities to strive for things. As a result, despite all our exertions we still get many failures but a few successes.
As we all know, when doing research for science, lots of scientists firstly determine a target and establish a supposition and then reach a theory after studying many years. However, after a long time, they negative the former theory with a new fact, and then once again set up a new goal and determine the theory, but several years later, this theory is negated by themselves again … Eventually, they have devoted all their energy but gained nothing. How did this happen? This is because they didn’t rely on God or seek help from Him. So it is difficult for them to have great achievements just depending on their own ability. Therefore, the scientist has finally summarized: Success is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration. The inspiration is from God’s enlightenment. Without God’s enlightenment, we won’t succeed even if we pay out 100 percent perspiration. Someone asked, “Can we directly gain the one percent inspiration if we don’t put forth the 99 percent perspiration?” In fact, as long as we worship, pray to, and seek God, probably just by putting 30 or 50 percent effort, we will reach conclusions. Maybe someday God will directly tell mankind these mysteries, and then we will harvest the greatest success through paying the least price, for God rules the laws of all things and everything is in God’s hand.
God says, “In any given minor matter, if God does not enlighten you, you will never have any inspiration, and without it, you will never be able to break through in this regard. If people simply rely on their human brains, intelligence, and calibers, there will be many things that humanity will be unable to break through in several hundred or even a thousand years. Why can’t they break through? It’s because until the time determined by God, and until God has commenced His work, it is useless, no matter how capable humans might be. You must see through this, right? You must have faith that everything is in God’s hands, and that humans are merely coordinating with Him. If you are sincere, God will see it and He will open up all paths for you, making difficulties no longer difficult. You must be confident in this.” If weproperly and pursue the truth, God will reveal all mysteries to us and we will understand everything without doing research. Only a word of God can solve the things which mankind can’t solve in his life, and then we will understand them easily. Hence, God’s blessings to mankind will be infinite if we worship God and live according to His will and demands and the truth. Otherwise, if we leave God, it will forever be a delusion that we want to do research and everything successfully and live out a happy life by ourselves. Because everything is in God’s hand and mankind can’t divide themselves from His rule and arrangement. This is permanent and immutable truth.
Solomon ever said, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding” (Pro 9:10). The true intelligence and wisdom are both from God, and God is at our side, and gives us help at any time. Nevertheless, much of the time we don’t rely on or look unto God, but only depend on our own power to do things like the boy in the story, with the result that we rack our brains but it has no effect. Furthermore, we even think we have done our best and that we are indeed unable to do that. Actually, we have ignored that God is our support and reliance, and that if we depend on God, nothing is difficult!
I can’t help remembering the story of David defeating Goliath. Holding all kinds of weapons, many tall and strong warriors who had rich combat experience couldn’t defeat the enemy. However, David was just a young shepherd and never fought on the battlefield, let alone had combat experience, but he successfully defeated the giant, Goliath, only by a slingshot and several stones. The secret of David’s success is not that he was powerful but that he depended on God. David prayed to Jehovah God, completely looked unto Him, and finally through the power Jehovah God bestowed on him, he did the things the common people couldn’t do.
In real life, all kinds of difficulties flood our lives: the frustrations in our work, the crisis of marriage, the estrangement and misunderstanding between our brothers and sisters, and so on. Many times we have truly done our best—we have already done that we should cooperate with and strive for, and even integrated and used all outward forces we can rely on, yet the difficulty still can’t be solved. At this time, don’t lose our heart and don’t lose our hope. God reminds us all along, “No matter how great or small their stature is or what their personal environment is like, something that they cannot be without is looking to God and relying on God in all things; this is the greatest wisdom.” We can lean on God. Whatever difficulties we meet, God always keeps watching beside us. As long as we seek help from Him, He will help us.
Thereupon, at any time we all should know that relying on and looking unto God is the greatest wisdom, and besides trying our best, we should also get help from God if we want to gain success. As long as we pray to, rely on and look unto God when facing difficulties, our difficulties will be readily solved. Just as God says, “It’s very simple now: Look upon Me with your heart and your spirit will immediately become strong, you will have a path to follow and I will guide your every step. My word shall be revealed to you at all times and in all places. No matter where or when, or how adverse the environment is, I will show you clearly and My heart shall be revealed to you if you look to Me with your heart; this way you will run down the road ahead and never lose your way.”
