Avoid Temptation. A Commentary on Matthew 6:13

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:13

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Every day we will encounter kinds of temptations. Some are seductions from the unbelievers, some are evil thoughts from our hearts. …All these are the deceitful schemes of Satan. Just as God’s word says, “On earth, all manner of evil spirits are endlessly on the prowl for a place to rest, are ceaselessly searching for the corpses of men to eat up.” Thus the Lord Jesus teaches us to live before God, asking Him to protect us from sinning through our words, quiet our hearts before God at all times, and keep away from Satan’s various temptations. Only by living before God at any time and do things with a cautious and prudent heart, will He protect us to stay away from the evil.
