And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands.
– 1 Samuel 17:47
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
In our opinions, success or failure depends on our minds, knowledge, ability, even the relationships. But in David’s mind, he didn’t need to depend on these. From this sentence said by David in his battle with the giant Goliath, we can see that David knew that everything was under the control of Jehovah God. Success or failure in battle was decided by God, as opposed to man’s ability. In the end, he defeated Goliath by relying on God.
Share a passage: “In any given minor matter, if God does not enlighten you, you will never have any inspiration, and without it, you will never be able to break through in this regard. If people simply rely on their human brains, intelligence, and calibers, there will be many things that humanity will be unable to break through in several hundred or even a thousand years. Why can’t they break through? It’s because until the time determined by God, and until God has commenced His work, it is useless, no matter how capable humans might be. You must see through this, right? You must have faith that everything is in God’s hands, and that humans are merely coordinating with Him. If you are sincere, God will see it and He will open up all paths for you, making difficulties no longer difficult. You must be confident in this.”
In real life, we will meet lots of difficulties. If we do anything only by our ability as opposed to God, we can do nothing even if we rack our brains. David could do things that an ordinary person couldn’t do—defeated Goliath. Relying on God, we will solve any difficulties.
